Pruning
Young plants, especially during the first 4-5 years in the garden, need an annual pruning to promote multiple branching at the plant base. Pruning stimulates new growth and therefore we recommend that it is done in early spring. The first step is to remove any branches that suffered from winter injury. Cut these back to the green wood. Most of the prostrate or diminutive cultivars do not need pruning.
